Xel-Ha Salinas

Assistant Director

Sarai Xel-Ha Salinas, originally from Cleburne, Texas, is a passionate music educator dedicated to inspiring young musicians. She began her teaching career at San Felipe Memorial Middle School, where she specialized in beginner woodwind instruction, and assisted in the woodwind instruction of the Mighty Ram Marching Band. She then moved up to Del Rio Middle School, where she served as the Head Band Director overseeing the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Varsity Mariachi.

Mrs. Salinas earned her degree in Music Education from Abilene Christian University, where she studied under Dr. Karla Ordóñez and Alex Carpenter. During her time at ACU, she was an active performer in the ACU Wind Ensemble, the Civic Orchestra of Abilene, and the Big Country Flute Choir. She also served as a Drum Major for the ACU Big Purple Marching Band for three years.

Mrs. Salinas is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) and the Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA).

Beyond her passion for music, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, building lego sets, and painting.
