If you are interested in twirling, please follow the link to our twirling interest form!

Much like the Drum Majors, Guard, and Drumline, the Twirling Line is a specialized performing group within the marching band.  Each of these groups receives specialized training in an area of performance that no one else in the ensemble can duplicate.  The skills learned and the collective precision required to maintain these skills are only achieved by upholding the integrity of the membership.  If one person fails to meet their obligations for eligibility, the entire group’s performance not only suffers, but there is seldom time to train a replacement that can perform at the competitive level required.

A candidate who has failed two or more six-week sessions in the current year will be denied an audition.  Interested candidates will submit a copy of their report card containing ALL previous grades to a director before the audition.

Frenship Memorial High School will have one level of participation for the 2025-2026 year - the JV Twirling Line.

The criteria for auditions is listed below. These twirling techniques will be assessed at the audition as required elements.

Each candidate is required to perform each of the elements in the One Baton and Two Baton sections, and at least show a basic understanding in the Basic Technique section. (You do not have to demonstrate mastery of the Basic Technique section - just do your best!)
